MECOZALEN
Oral Gel

Composition:
Each 1g Mecozalen oral gel contains 20mg Miconazole base.

Properties:
-    Mecozalen oral gel is an anti-fungal of Imidazole group.
-    Mecozalen oral gel is wide spectrum anti-fungal and anti-bacterial which affects gram positive bacilli.
-    Mecozalen oral gel is effective against candida and fungi that affect the buccal cavity and the derms.

Indications:
Curative and prophylactic treatment of candidosis of the oropharyngeal cavity and the G.I. tract.

Side effects:
Nausea may occur, and after a long-term treatment, diarrhea and allergic reactions may appear.

Contraindications:
-    Hypersensitivity to Mecozalen oral gel.
-    Liver dysfunction, although Mecozalen oral gel showed no evidence of embryotoxic or teratogenic properties in animals.
-    Potenital hazards of prescribing this drug during pregnancy should always be weighed against expected therapeutic benefits.

Interactions:
Do not use Mecozalen oral gel with:
•    Anti coagulant medication of coumairn derivatives.
•    Hypoglycemic drug of sulphonyl urea derivatives as Mecozalen oral gel decreases its effect.
•    Phenytion.

Caution:
Use Mecozalen oral gel apart of meals, at least 10 minutes after each meal.

Dosage & Administration:
-    Infants : ¼ measuring spoon of Mecozalen oral gel 4 times daily.
-    Children and adults: ½ measuring spoon of Mecozalen oral gel 4 times daily.
-    Do not immediately swallow the medication, it is best to keep it in the mouth as long as possible.
-    The treatment should be continued for at least a week after the symptoms have disappeared.

Presentation:
-    Aluminum tube contains 50g Mecozalen oral gel.
-    Measuring spoonful.
